Scenario
Connecting to a CP PLC using your computer.
Solution
- STARTING A PROJECT NEW/OLD ON PC.
- Open from CX ONE, CX programmer (CXP)
- From FILE menu at top of CX Programmer, start new, this will change dialogue box,
- Select from DEVICE TYPE BOX, which PLC you are using
- Next to right of Device type box, SETTINGS button, select specific model of PLC, then press OK
- In NETWORK Type, select the required network required for the specific PLC you are using.
- To the right of Network type, select SETTINGS, then select Network or Driver tab at top. Add the required settings.


4. Press OK and the dialog box will disappear, leaving you with an empty program space.
Connecting Online
- Connect COM’s cable to PC, other end to PLC
- Click on PLC on top of CX Programmer menu, and from drop down menu select WORK ONLINE.
- The program space should now have turned grey, indicating the PC is online with the PLC.
- On front of PLC, the status lights will be lit highlighting the communication between the PLC and PC.
