This article outlines the Hysteresis Modes of the E3AS-HF Sensor.

The point at which the output turns from OFF to ON is called the operating point and the point at which it turns from ON to OFF is called the return point. The distance between the operating and return points is called hysteresis width. 

For this sensor, threshold value is equal to operating point, so the distance to the return point can be set by the hysteresis width. The definition of hysteresis width for each output mode is shown on the figure below
