3G3M1-EMP Profinet Guide
Example setup 3G3M1-EMP for Profinet Communication
Disclaimer
This article is based on a single setup of 3G3M1-EMP device using TIA Portal. For any reference to 3rd party products please refer to Manufacturer for support instead of Omron.
This article will go through the steps use to setup 3G3M1-EMP Inverter for PROFINET communications. Sysmac Studio version 1.64 was used in this exercise and either this version or higher is required to setup the 3G3M1-EMP Inverter.
Communication Settings 3G3M1-EMP
The settings for the multi-protocol Ethernet interface can be set via Sysmac Studio

* Default setting
*2 Needs a restart or a soft restart via setting o299 = 1 (Apply Ethernet setting).
Sysmac Studio does not automatically enforce a restart of the drive, therefore this must be done after setting parameters related to communication. Another alternative is perform a soft restart by setting o299 = 1. After accepting the parameter changes, o299 will automatically reset to 0.

Integrated the GSD file
GSD file must first be installed, to do this the GSD administration menu is opened in the Siemens TIA Portal under "Extras".

Adding the 3G3M1 in PROFINET
The 3G3M1 can now be added as a participant in the "Devices & network" configuration. To do this, select the 3G3M1-EMP under "Other field devices" -> "PROFINET IO" -> "Drives" -> “Fuji”

Setting the IP address in the TIA Portal
You can now assign the IP address in the device settings. Attention: If the IP address is set via the PROFINET master, DHCP must be activated in the frequency inverter. To do this, set parameter o213 IP address setting mode to 2: DHCP.

Integrating the 3G3M1 using the PROFIdrive profile
The 3G3M1 supports control via the PROFIdrive profile and is controlled via telegram 1 as standard. To do this, a new technology object of type SpeedAxis must be added to the controller in the TIA Portal project. Telegram 1 of the 3G3M1-EMP can now be assigned in the Hardware interface -> Drive section
