Update NB HMI Kernel and Rootfs
NB HMI Hardware updates
Introduction
This article will cover the steps required to update the Kernel and Rootfs of your NB HMI. The version of the Kernel and Rootfs are based on the version NB-Designer you have.
It is beneficial to perform this update when possible as it might add new functions/object available for the screen, or potentially fix current issue if there are any. You can find the RELEASE NOTES within the following folder on your computer after installing NB-Designer.
C:\Program Files (x86)\OMRON\NB-Designer\doc\ENG
Connecting to NB HMI
- Open NB-Designer, then go to Tools and open System Manager.
- NBManager will appear on your screen, under Communication Settings click on Set.
- Select the desired Communication Method and setup the communication settings accordingly. Once done, click on OK.
- To confirm that the communication between the PC and NB HMI is working, go to Get Version on the left hand side.
- Click on Get Version and the information in each box retunes a value then we know that the communications is working, otherwise check your Communication Settings again to make sure they are correct.
Update Kernel and Rootfs
