Scenario

Sometimes it is required to change the project version in CX-Designer to an older firmware than the current project version. You may find that the "version" button is greyed out, or that older firmwares are not available. An example of this could be your project is on version 8.9, but you need to convert it to 8.1 so you can use it with NS runtime.

Solution

  1. Close all instances of CX-Designer.
  2. Navigate to the CX-Designer installation directory. This is usually located at C:\Program Files (x86)\OMRON\CX-One\CX-Designer. Locate and run the executable “mod.exe”.
  3. Reopen your project file, you should now be able to change the firmware to older versions.
