Scenario

You need to import files such as global variables, Component files and projects into TM flow.

Issue

TM flow requires a USB drive to be setup with folder names in a particular order. Files such as projects, components and variables are also required to be in certain file locations.

Solution

The file structure for importing TM flow files is as follows.

Delete

Info

It is important to ensure the format, folder structure and capitalization of words are the same as below, otherwise TM flow will not be able to read the files.

USB format

  1. Plug a clean USB drive of at least 4 GB into a computer and ensure it is in NTFS format.
  2. Rename the USB drive to TMROBOT

Delete

File structure

  1. Name a folder within TMROBOT called TM_Export
  2. Depending on what files are being imported, within the TM-Export folder, create the following folders.
    1. ComponentObject- Load all component files such as gripper configurations and custom-made components as zip files into this folder.
    2. Projects- Add any TMflow projects created into this folder.
    3. GlobalVariables- Add any variables directly into the TM_Export folder
Delete

In TM flow, under System> Import/Export, the following window opens.

Select Import and the corresponding option to what needs to be imported. Project on USB to 'Project', Component files to 'Component' and global variables to 'Global Variables. Click on each file you want to import. The file will be moved onto the 'Selected files' list

Once all files for each category are selected, click on the Import button.
